Rachmaninoff on Moog Etherwave Pro Theremin

Jerry Martin purchased this elegant, limited-edition Moog Etherwave Pro Theremin with walnut back from us last week. He received it the other day and immediately shot this video! Anyone who has tried to play a Theremin knows how difficult it is. He does an amazing job considering he just received it. Here is what Jerry said of this video:

"Today was a big day in my theremin odyssey. My etherwave pro arrived - this beautiful instrument was sitting on a shelf at bigcitymusic waiting for someone to pick it out. Limited edition. This is within 10 mins of unpacking it - once I brush up some repertoire and get used to the beautiful linear pitch field I'll upload some more. Apologies for the less than perfect audio - this is recorded with an iPhone 4S. No editing."

Analogue Systems rs450 CV Recorder + Cwejman MMF-2 Stereo Multimode Filter

Here's a patch we made to show the new Analogue Systems rs450 CV Recorder/Sequencer and the Cwejman MMF-2 Stereo Multi-mode Filter module.  The Cwejman MMF-2 is filtering a basic saw wave bass from the Cwejman VCO-2RM running into a version of lowpass on the MMF-2.  The kick and snare were created using Analogue Systems modules.  The sixteenth note percussion is a modulated Cyndustries Zeroscillator through a Cwejman VCA, opened by the Cyndustries Four Transients module.

We've pre-recorded a few CV sequences into the incredible new Analogue Systems rs450 CV Recorder/Sequencer.  It's being clocked by an A.S. rs200 sequencer (which is running the whole patch actually).  We are switching between four or five preset sequences which in turn is controlling the pitch of a Cwejman RES-4 module.

The rhythms for this patch are derived from the 4ms Shuffling Clock Multiplier and we're also using a 4ms PEG module as a slow modulation source for the MMF-2.  Rad!

Expert Sleepers Silent Way Voice-Controller Plugin

Here's our follow up to the first Expert Sleepers Silent Way video.
Expert Sleepers has done an excellent job designing the Silent Way system. Now we'll take a turn with the Voice Controller plugin. http://bigcitymusic.com
It was pretty easy to scale the Pittsburgh Oscillator, set up our envelope output and go to town! In this example we've routed the pitch CV to another output of the ES-3 module, essentially multing it to two oscillators, all with the flick of a mouse.
Next, polyphonic modular.

Leon Dewan demonstrates the Dewanatron Hymnotron at Big City Music

Here's Leon demonstrating the long awaited Dewanatron Hymnotron at our shop in Studio City, California. http://bigcitymusic.com
The Hymnotron arrived at our shop in late January following NAMM 2012. Now it has a new home with a wonderful customer who loves it, as well he should. There is nothing that sounds like the Hymnotron! We look forward to having another one at our shop as soon as it is ready!

Expert Sleepers ES-3 eurorack module - Silent Way system

Here's our first video using the super-slick Expert Sleepers Silent Way system. In this video we are using the ES-3 module with the black acrylic front panel. Lightpipe to control voltage!

Using Ableton Live we called up our Silent Way LFO plugin. The LFO is synced to the master tempo of Live and we wrote in some automation on our Ableton clip., selecting 1/4, 1/8, 1/4. then 16th notes. The drum beat is from Live too.

In this demo we're using an RME Fireface 800, ADAT output directly into the ES-3 module. The sound is the Pittsburgh Oscillator into a Division-6 Filtaire. The Silent Way LFO is controlling the filter's cutoff frequency.

Malekko / Wiard Joystick Axis Generator (JAG)

Here we are checking out the super-awesome Malekko / Wiard Joystick Axis Generator, or JAG. There are four different drone tones running into the four inputs of a 4ms VCA Matrix, using two outputs summed to our Eventide Space reverb pedal. We're opening the eight(!) VCA's with the JAG being controlled by an Analogue Systems rs220 joystick module. Sweet!

NOTE: Do not watch this video while under medication.

Monorocket Mission 9M with Mother Of All Power Supplies!

The all new Monorocket Mission 9M was created for the new Metasonix R-55 Oscillator which by itself requires 1800mA from the +5 volt rail on startup. This case features massive power supplies with a whopping 8500mA on the +/-12 volt rails and a whopping 8000mA on the +5 volt rails!
