Ham Heart Synthesizers -"the sweet yellow and black one..."

This Ham Heart, hand-made analog synth box sports one main oscillator, four modulating LFO oscillators, a filter and switches for LFO ranges. These little boxes are chock full of interesting drones and wild sounds. All Ham Heart synths are unique looking and sounding..... they're all different and we like that! This one is still available.

Keyboard solo in Del Shannon's RUNAWAY

I found the classic 1961 Del Shannon song, Runaway, on YouTube and was blown away by the beautiful and very unusual keyboard solo sound. There is an explanation of what the keyboardist used:

"Max Crook was his organ player, playing a "Musitron" which was built from parts from a Clavioline, Viking 85 reel to reel machine, Fisher K-10 Reverb Spacexpander, a Gibson guitar amp, and several other parts and pieces."

There's also a 1986 version on YouTube of Del Shannon singing with Paul Schaeffer and the Tonight Show Band (David Letterman show). It appears that Paul Schaeffer used an Oberheim Matrix-12 for the solo work. Paul's solo is well played as you would expect, and it does sound similar. But it certainly does not have the same WOW factor to it. It never ceases to amaze me how often I find that really primitive gear, combined with creativity, just totally kicked ass.

f(h) Infernal Noise Machine Acid with Diabolical Devices 707 and friends

Too much percussion! It starts off with some drum sounds from the Diabolically modified 707. The 707 is clocking the x0xb0x 303 clone. The x0x's output is running to the mega-sweet Diabolical Devices Fuzz Burglar guitar pedal. It self oscillates and has twelve different settings for the internal oscillator as well as a momentary drop switch that lets you drop the pitch by about two octaves. The x0xb0x is also controlling the maniacal Flight of Harmony Infernal Noise Machine via control voltage. The INM has all sorts of sounds just waiting to make you sick to your stomach;) The joysticks are fun too.
